Buy your boating supplies, boat accessories, fishing tackle and gear at the official site of Boaters World. Choose from a large selection of fishing rods
By News Canada Which type of boat is right for me?
For most buyers, general purpose craft which serve as fish, ski and picnic boats are ideal; for others needing something specialized, a wide selection is offered in most markets.
How big a boat will I need?
Size is a function of who will be on board and where it will be used. Options range from 12-ft. dinghies to power and sail yachts. If it is a question of two to four-feet in size, buy more if your budget allows. This will keep you in the boat longer.
What about power needs?
What will it cost?
Most newcomers are surprised that, with financing, boats can be paid for in monthly installments and often cost less than they think. Pre-owned boats often cost one-half of similar new models.
What is the best time of year to buy?
The best time of year to buy is when you are ready. Boat shows provide great opportunities to find "show specials." However, specials only work if you have done some homework and identified the right type of boat for your needs. There are good deals on boats throughout the year.

By Anonymous (* February 3 2004--Our choice for an exhilarating outdoor adventure is the unique folding Porta-Bote. Ideal for the outdoorsman who enjoys fishing, hunting and sailing but lacks the space to store ordinary boats, the Porta-Bote is an affordable and convenient way to experience excursions away from land. Extremely practical for owners of small autos and RVs, Porta -Botes stow easily on the roof or side of the vehicle. No trailer is needed!
Porta-Bote can be opened in a few minutes, weighs half as much as comparable aluminum boats, and stores easily with its 4 inch flat folded
size. Truly Amazing!
Porta-Bote carries a full 10 year warranty, never needs painting, and can withstand pressures over 90,000 pounds! The hinges of the Porta-bote are waterproof and are so unique they have been granted a patent. Available in 8', 10', 12' and 14' models, colors include Pacific Pearl, Duck Hunter Green and Aluminum.
As for performance, Porta-Botes leave similar sized aluminum boats and inflatables in their wake. These convenient crafts need only half the horsepower of heavier boats and are virtually puncture proof. Porta-Bote is extremely stable and floats even when completely filled with water!
In addition to being used as an owner's main craft, Porta-Botes make excellent ship-to-shore dinghies taking up only 4" of valuable deck space. An optional sailkit turns Porta-Bote into a very fast sailboat that can outrun most sailing prams and also fits neatly atop a small car.
The best thing about the Porta-Bote is that little maintenance is required. Almost nothing sticks to the Porta-Bote, not even dirt. Time with your Porta-Bote will be spent having fun and not cleaning!
For more information or to order your Porta-Bote today call (800)227-8882 or visit their website at http://www.porta-bote.com.
